Melanie Auerbach is an Associate Licensed Professional Counselor who works with children, adolescents, college students, and adults experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. She provides therapy for individuals navigating ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, relationship challenges, and life transitions.Melanie takes a collaborative, person-centered approach to therapy and believes that each client is the expert on their own life. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgment. By working together to identify strengths, clarify personal values, and recognize connections among thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, Melanie helps clients improve emotional regulation, develop healthy coping strategies, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.Recognizing that every individual is unique and that one therapeutic modality does not fit all individuals, Melanie tailors treatment to each client’s specific needs and goals. While her work is grounded in a person-centered approach, she also incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) when they can support a client’s growth and progress.Melanie is committed to providing culturally responsive care and recognizes that each person’s background, identity, and lived experiences shape how they experience the world. She strives to foster a therapeutic relationship where clients feel seen, heard, respected, and valued.Melanie earned her master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her bachelor’s degree from Drexel University. She will be working under the supervision of licensed psychologist, Dr. Michael Murphy, and experienced therapist, Andrew McGinley, LPC, while accruing hours for independent licensure as a Professional Counselor.
