I am a compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker who uses education, life experience, creativity, and a sense of humor to provide psychotherapy. I believe healing is an inside-out job and that the journey begins when you recognize your typical ways of responding to life are not working. Maybe you are feeling sad, angry, irritable, worried, stressed or stuck in a toxic relationship or job. And you want to feel better and become unstuck, but you are not sure where to begin. The next step would be to find a supportive and non-judgmental space to discuss your concerns.
I provide a therapeutic but down-to-earth space to explore how your past and other factors may be impacting your relationship with yourself and the world around you. I draw upon attachment theory, strength-based solution focused approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness and a trauma-informed lens to provide treatment and will partner with you to develop a plan to address your unique situation. For those who are interested, I also integrate prayer and spirituality into treatment.
I have over two decades of experience working in various nonprofit and for profit, academic, and government settings serving children, youth, and adults by providing counseling, consultation, and crisis management services. My background enables me to be an effective therapist who is comfortable counseling diverse groups of people regardless of race, religion, age, gender or sexual orientation.
