Lauri Haines, LCSW is a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker, bringing over a decade of expertise to her role as a therapist. Specializing in trauma-informed care, Lauri dedicates her practice to supporting adults grappling with interpersonal stress, relational conflict, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and other life transitions. Her expertise lies in supporting individuals with histories of significant and complex trauma, guiding them towards healing, resilience, and empowering them to rebuild their lives. Lauri is committed to the well-being of her clients, assisting them in navigating the complexities of healing and recovery, and finding purpose in their unique narratives. Her experience includes: surviving childhood neglect and abuse, narcissistic and addicted family systems, suicide loss, adult ADHD, divorce/separation, parenting, and adoption.
Grounded in a psychodynamic orientation, Lauri draws on one’s attachment and relational histories and styles to provide a comprehensive and personalized therapeutic approach. She has an integrative approach, drawing from cognitive behavioral, mindfulness and somatic therapies. She also proficient in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapeutic technique she frequently employs to address unresolved traumatic symptoms and facilitate healing.
Prior to her work as a therapist, Lauri served as a protection specialist in international emergencies, focusing on mitigating both short-term and long-term harm to children in conflict zones. This diverse background contributes to her holistic understanding of trauma and its multifaceted impacts on individuals.
Lauri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University, a Masters in International Development from American University, and a Masters in Social Service (MSW) from Bryn Mawr College.
