Dr. Nicole Machinski is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in forensic assessment and consultation. As the Chief Executive Officer of Lowey Psychological Services, she oversees a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals and provides consultation and supervision to the practice’s forensic psychology division.
Dr. Machinski has extensive experience conducting court-ordered psychological evaluations and providing expert testimony in criminal, civil, and family court matters. Her forensic work includes psychosexual and violence risk assessments; evaluations for criminal mitigation; juvenile certification and decertification evaluations; competency to proceed assessments; and parental fitness evaluations. She also performs comprehensive child custody evaluations and provides expert opinions in cases involving emotional distress, workplace discrimination, and personal injury claims.
Appointed by the Governor of Pennsylvania, Dr. Machinski serves as a Psychologist Board Member for the Pennsylvania Sexual Offender Assessment Board, where she offers expert opinions on offender’s risk and treatment needs.
In addition to her assessment work, Dr. Machinski frequently consults with media and television professionals on issues related to forensic psychology. She has been featured as a psychological expert on national and local programs, including A&E’s Intervention and Animal Hoarders, as well as a variety of local news segments.
Dr. Machinski earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) and two master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology and Criminal Justice from Widener University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Joseph’s University. She is licensed to practice psychology in Pennsylvania and Delaware and holds Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) across 42 states. She is an active member of the American Psychology-Law Society, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, and the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.
