Medication Management

If you are prescribed psychiatric medication, you will meet with your prescriber regularly to discuss how well the medication is working and whether you are experiencing any side effects. The frequency and duration of follow-up medication management appointments will vary depending on your needs, symptoms, response to medication, and overall treatment plan. Your prescriber will discuss the recommended follow-up schedule with you during your initial session.

Medication management appointments may occur weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly, and last between 15 and 45 minutes.

Psychiatric medications are generally most effective when used in conjunction with psychotherapy. For this reason, we typically require that patients receiving medication management services are also engaged in psychotherapy, either with a clinician in our office or with a provider at another practice.
