Many students who experience academic challenges or who are gifted qualify for individualized accommodations to help them succeed in school. At Lowey Psychological Services, we offer comprehensive evaluations that assess cognitive, academic, neurological, and psychological functioning to diagnose Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders, and other psychological conditions which could lead to a student being provided with an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Our evaluations can also be used to identify those students with exceptional intellectual abilities who may qualify for Gifted and Talented programming.

We specialize in helping students with disabilities access accommodations such as extended time on exams, a separate testing location, or waivers for standardized tests, including the GRE, LSAT, MCAT, GMAT, bar exams, CPA exams, and other state-administered or professional certification tests. These accommodations can make a significant difference in a student’s ability to perform to their fullest potential during high-stakes testing situations.
At Lowey Psychological Services, we pride ourselves on offering thorough, individualized evaluations conducted by highly skilled psychologists. The evaluation typically requires 5-6 hours of testing, which can be conducted in a single, full-day appointment or broken up over 2 half-day appointments. Following the testing session, we prepare detailed, yet easy to read reports with clear, actionable recommendations that are customized to fit the individual’s learning needs and the specific requirements of the institution or agency receiving the final report.
After the evaluation, we offer a client feedback session where we explain the findings in detail. The feedback session focuses on highlighting strengths and areas for growth, ensuring that you fully understand the evaluation results. We provide these results in a timely and efficient manner, so that students and families can begin to implement the necessary accommodations and interventions as soon as possible.
Health insurance will not cover the cost of evaluations needed for educational purposes. The cost of the evaluation ranges from $2500 – $3500.
