Dr. Nicole Machinski is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in forensic assessment and consultation. Dr. Machinski earned a Bachelors degree in psychology from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA. She then went on to earn Masters degrees in Clinical Psychology and Criminal Justice, as well as a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Widener University. Dr. Machinski has been working at Dr. Robin Lowey & Associates as a therapist and evaluator since 2008. She became the owner and executive director of the business in 2019.
In addition to running the day to day operations of the practice, Dr. Machinski also maintains a full schedule of evaluating and treating individual clients. Dr. Machinski is skilled in psychological assessment with children, adolescents, and adults and she has extensive experience conducting various types of evaluations with individuals involved in the legal system. Specific evaluations performed include those to related to issues of competency, juvenile waiver/amenability, pre-sentencing risk assessment, sex offender assessment, personal injury, worker’s compensation, sexual harassment, age, race, and gender discrimination, emotional distress, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Following the completion of a forensic psychological evaluation, expert witness testimony is provided when needed.
Dr. Machinski also conducts traditional clinical psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification and to provide treatment recommendations and she engages in individual psychotherapy with adults, utilizing a cognitive-behavioral approach to treatment to empower her clients to make the desired changes in their lives.
Dr. Machinski is available for consultation to review other psychological evaluations and to help attorneys with cross examination preparation as well. She also provides presentations and consultation on issues related to forensic psychology for those in the media and the film and television industries.
